Superman Day

Updated: Jun 22, 2022

In 2013, DC Entertainment declared June 12th as Man of Steel Day. The intention was to promote Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, which introduced Henry Cavill's portrayal of the character, at the time, but DC fans have been commemorating the superhero on that day ever since.

Here is our guide to help celebrate this day with podcasts, recipes, videos, merch, etc.

Did you know?

Jerry Siegel wrote and Joe Shuster drew the short story "The Reign of the Superman" (January 1933). It was the first time the writer/artist team used the term Superman, which they later ascribed to their fictional superhero archetype. Rather than being a physically powerful hero like the well-known legend, the titular character of this narrative is a telepathic villain.
