Riggs himself, actor Mel Gibbon has confirmed the 80's hit movie franchise Leath Weapon will be getting a 5th movie. Mel Gibbson will direct the 5th Lethal Weapon with Danny Glover set to reprise his role as Roger Murtaugh.

The Movies
The 1980's action movie Lethal Weapon went on to release 4 movies in total. The movies centre around two unlikely L.A Cops, one unhinged, with suicidal tendencies Martin Riggs and the other by the book veteran cop Roger Murtaugh. Together they uncover huge drug-smuggling operations and solve homicides, while their friendship grows.
The Series
In 2016 the franchise was rebooted with the Lethal Weapon series, starring Clayne Crawford as Martin Riggs and Damon Wayans as Murtaugh. Unfortunately, the series didn't do well with internal casting issues. With Seann William Scott replacing Clayne Crawford in season 3 and wasn't renewed for season 4.
Lethal Weapon 5
In a recent interview, Mel Gibson has confirmed he will direct the 5th movie. While he and Danny Glover will reprise their roles. Not much has been said about the storyline or even the involvement of Joe Pesci. However, Mel Gibson would love Joe Pesci to be part of the film. Here is the interview below.
I am was a big fan of the movies however, I felt the series let down the franchise. Let's hope the 5th movie, also to be the last in the series will help the franchise out with some success.
