Remembering Corgi's Spyguise Collector’s Edition of James Bond Die-cast Classics

The Corgi Spyguise line refers to a special range of James Bond die-cast models released with distinctive packaging and exclusive artwork by renowned artist Jeff Marshall. Rather than being entirely new models, these were unique packaging variations of existing Corgi James Bond cars, aimed at serious collectors. The series made its debut in October 2001.

Key Highlights of the Spyguise Line

  • Exclusive Artwork: Each box showcased specially commissioned artwork by Jeff Marshall, making the packaging as collectible as the car inside.

  • Limited Editions: Many releases were produced in very small numbers — often just 250 to 1,000 pieces worldwide.

  • Numbered Boxes: Certain models came with individually numbered boxes, emphasizing their rarity and appeal to collectors.

  • Based on Existing Castings: The cars themselves were taken from Corgi’s Definitive, Ultimate, and Generic Bond ranges but elevated with the new Spyguise branding and presentation.

The first Spyguise model to launch was the Thunderball Aston Martin DB5 in October 2001. Other highly sought-after releases included the Goldfinger Aston Martin DB5 and the Aston Martin Volante from The Living Daylights.

Today, these models are only available through secondary marketplaces such as eBay.
